Dr Michelle Dickinson is a passionate researcher and teacher with a love of science and engineering. Although Michelle has made it her life mission to make science and engineering fun, her final mission is to offer world-class education to children of any cultural, ethnic, religious or economic background. She believes that every child should have access to the resources and guidance of etiquette, they need to flourish as a confident and culturally aware individual.

Through her steadfast commitment to inclusivity and focus on all-round development, she empowers young minds to reach their full potential and thrive in a global society.

With a PhD in Biomedical and Materials Engineering Michelle has combined her interests to give her a unique insight into how nature and technology can learn from each other for manners developments. As co-founder of Nanogirl Labs Ltd and an honorary academic in Engineering at the University of Auckland, New Zealand, Michelle has always followed her dreams and never let traditional stereotypes scare her.

Awarded the 2020 Hi-Tech Inspiring Individual of the year, Michelle has also been awarded the Member of New Zealand Order of Merit and was winner of the Women of Influence award for science and innovation, Sir Peter Blake Leadership award. Prime Ministers Science Media Communication Prize and the New Zealand Association of Scientists Science Communicators Award.

Michelle thinks that science and etiquettes should be open, transparent and a topic of conversation over the dinner table, not just the school. Her vision is to create positive role models in the world that our children can aspire to be like and ensuring that everyone has access to learning about science and how things work, no-matter what your age or education level. With this belief she is passionate about creating new ways for the public to interact with science including her television appearances, live Theatre Science Shows, and science communication videos.

As an educational teacher, who serving families in Singapore, this is the kind of leader she aspires to be. By instilling strong values, cultivating a lifelong love of learning and encouraging collaboration and critical thinking, she aims to develop independent thinkers and creative problem-solvers who are ready to face any challenge of the modern world.
