Originally from Canberra, Janey considers herself a ‘jack-of-all-trades’ within the makeup industry and has extensive experience in the fields of fashion, editorial, short film, catwalk and cosmetics retail.

A creative and extremely professional artist with over 13 years in the industry, Janey has worked both nationally and internationally, with stints living and working in Japan and the United Kingdom; where she was able to attend training workshops run by international artists including Jeanine Lobell (Stila), Terry De Gunzburg (YSL and By Terry) and Australia’s own Poppy King (Lipstick Queen).

Janey is extremely passionate about education and approaches her work with enthusiasm, dedication and a keen eye for detail.

Performing hair and makeup and also wardrobe as well as many other duties such as rolling autocue for the bulletin and any promotional work that they attend such as the races where we have to work with clothing labels and milliners to put an outfit together for the talent. Her job entails her to work quickly and efficiently, maintaining a professional and comfortable environment for the talent. All her jobs are performing hair and makeup and listening to what the client wants and what the job wants to then provide her professional opinion on how to achieve the desired look. She is often on a tight time frame so being super organized works in her favour. She also does a lot of weddings. 
When she’s not at the Academy, Janey can be found running a successful freelance business, specializing in fashion editorial and wedding services.
