Marvice started her Esthetics journey here at JCI. She was born and raised in Hong Kong and immigrated to Canada in 2004 and became a proud Canadian citizen since 2011. Now, With years of experience of being a Certified Esthetician and Registered Aromatherapist, Marvice is also the founder of LUMIÈRE Skin Health & Wellness Centre, a skin health & wellness studio located in Downtown Vancouver. LUMIÈRE is focused on advanced facial treatment and Aromatherapy, “My mission is to bring the benefits of facial, essential oils & self-care to as many people as possible.” Marvice says.

She had a very interesting experience studying at JCI. She got the opportunity to work at an actual spa setting which is super beneficial. It prepared her so well to run her own studio. She felt that she didn’t have to reinvent her wheels as the training laid a really strong foundation for her to follow treatment protocols, the highest hygiene & disinfection standard. It also made her feel confident in providing services to her clients when she was ready to open her own skincare studio. Also, she met the best & most supportive teacher Heather Haslam who is always there to help before and even after she graduated.

She is best at Aromatherapy, which is a complementary therapy with the controlled use of essen、tial oil to promote and enhance our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual wellbeing. Designed to treat the whole body, Aromatherapy aims to assist the body’s natural abilities to heal, rest and recover from stress and illness. For example, it is mostly used for balancing our nervous systems, strengthen our immune systems, ease muscular aches & pains, improve circulation, ease sinus congestions and support better sleep.

Her qualification includes:
Completed 800 hours training at John Casablancas Institute, a leading Esthetics school in Vancouver. Graduated with Distinctions and received the Diploma of Body Spa & Esthetics in 2013;
Completed Advanced Chemical Peel Certificate Training in 2013;
Completed European Skincare Training in 2014. Accumulated over 200 hours of product knowledge and technical training;
Completed Advanced SilkPeel® Dermalinfusion Certificate Training in November 2015;
Completed 300 hours of Aromatherapy training at Langara College in Vancouver. Graduated with Distinctions and become a Registered Aromatherapist (RA) & Essential Oil Therapist in September 2017;
Completed 40 hours of Italian Diego Dalla Palma Professional skincare training and become Master Skin Therapist of Diego Dalla Palma Professional in September 2018;
Completed a total of 56 CEUs of “Aromatherapy For Natural Living” at Aromahead Institute in Florida, USA January 2019;
Completed Fatty Acids and Components found in Carrier Oils Webinar with Healing Fragrances School of Aromatherapy October 2019;
Completed Advanced Acne Training November 2019;
Completed eDermaStamp® by Dermaroller® Microneedling Professional training March 2020;
Completed Eczema Awareness Diploma Course May 2020.
