Holly Ryan founded her eponymous label on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland in 2010, after completing a Bachelor of Fine Arts: Fashion Design at Queensland University of Technology. Holly has always been passionate about sustainability, sourcing recycled metals and ethical stones for her designs. The designer’s parents first instilled this ethos in her, having both studied jewellery making in Mexico during the 1980s.  

Artistic influences also play an important role in Holly’s design process and in 2017, this led her to expand her work into the field of sculpture. Holly is now represented as a sculpture artist by Jerico Contemporary gallery. As an artist and maker, Holly Ryan’s practice is ever evolving, but her commitment to producing responsible, meaningful objects is staunchly resolute.

She studied Fine Arts majoring in Fashion at QUT and graduated in 2010. She launched her jewelry label straight out of uni after receiving orders from buyers at her grad show. Then she begun sculpting when she was looking to create a unique display for her jewellery at MBFWA in early 2017.

She wears jewelries all the day, including the Unconditional ring, Wavee wire ring, Signet ring and plain stacking rings all in 14ct solid yellow gold as well as the Egg ring and Taxco bangle in solid sterling silver. She like to wear her finer earring designs and the longer length necklaces such as the Wavee pendant and Brancusi necklace. Her only rule is keep it personal, be true to your own style.
She was inspired by art and nature predominantly. Her favourite artists are Constantin Brancusi, Barbara Hepworth, Picasso, Alexander Calder, Joan Miro and Matisse. She was in love with the Japanese design aesthetic 'Wabi-Sabi' which means to the accept and embrace beauty in things that are imperfect, unfinished or transient and spend a lot of time in nature. That is where she feel most at home and the most free to let her mind wander, imagining her creations.
